catgucci : Hi, Dr. Tai:
Can you tell me what kind of vaccine the vets use in taiwan? Is that “Fel-O-Vax LV-K IV” by Fort Dodge for killing feline leukemia, panleukopenia, rhinotracheitis, calicivirus and chlamydia? I saw Pfizer’s modified vaccine-“Feline Infectious Peritonitis” which don’t need injection just feed the cats regularly, is that work the same as other vaccine we usually use? I’d like to buy the vaccine for my cat, do they need to be refrigerated? Thank you.
大敦寵物醫療中心院長戴更基醫生 : Yes, the FortDodge is our first choice right now in our center(but not in all the hospital in Taiwan)
but what you talk about the Pfizer’s “Feline Infectious Peritonitis” vaccine is under safty usage right now. There is no really FIP vaccine in USA market, We do not suggest to use these kind of vaccine.
Over 30% cases received FIP vaccine that cause vaccine-induced Feline Infectious Peritonitis.
We don’t want to give our clients this kind of vaccine. Please do understand
Best regards
